Caring for your silk wearable art is simpler than you think.
Watch the video to see how quick and easy it is to hand-wash and iron!
If you prefer not to hand wash, you can always take your piece to a trusted specialist for professional dry cleaning.
The wonderful thing about silk is that it doesn't hold onto odors, so it rarely needs to be washed. You truly only need to wash your skirt if it has been a long time, and feel like it or if you happen to spill something on it. Otherwise it’s not necessary, honestly!
For food or grease spots, I recommend gently dabbing the area with dish soap first, just rub it in for 10 seconds, then put the whole skirt in cold water. If you don't have dish soap, shampoo works wonderfully too! Since silk is a natural protein just like our hair, a gentle shampoo is actually the perfect soap to use for the entire wash. Just follow my simple hand-washing steps below, and your hand-printed skirt will look gorgeous forever.
Basically, it’s as simple and quick as:
Hand wash in cold water (Do Not Soak)
If there is some color in the water it’s normal, not to worry, it won’t bleed onto the fabric, just follow these instructions
Wring or squeeze all the water out completely, there should be no water dripping off
Hang to dry - For my *reversible pieces*, please hang the garment fully open so the two layers of silk are separated and do not touch while damp. I highly recommend watching the quick video demonstration on this page to see exactly how I do this.
Once fully dry, iron on medium setting (if there is metallic dye, iron on opposite side)
Or Steam
Cotton Skirts – Care Instructions
For the first wash: Wash alone on cold, hand wash / gentle cycle.
After that: you can wash with other items, still on cold, gentle.

How to Pack Your 100% Silk Wearable Art for Travel
Tissue paper is your best ally when packing silk for travel—it creates a soft buffer that prevents deep creasing. For maximum wrinkle protection, place 3 to 5 sheets between each fold.
